PERITO MORENO GLACIER

A scenic 80km journey from El Calafate will take us to the National Park to enjoy its viewing area in front of Perito Moreno and explore this impressive glacier from multiple angles as it advances into Lago Argentino and cleaves enormous blocks of ice.

MINI TREKKING on PERITO MORENO

First a boat ride across the Brazo Rico branch of Lago Argentino. Followed by a 2 hour ice hike that introduces you to the fascinating landscape of the glaciers: streams, small lagoons, gullies, crevasses and plenty of ice formations of the most incredible blues.

NAUTICAL SAFARI

This excursion takes you on an hour-long cruise across Lake Rico, passing by icebergs which have calved from the face of the Perito Moreno glacier. The closest you can get to Perito Moreno glacier´s wall and fully enjoy it´s calvings…

This is perhaps the most memorable excursion as it navigates through a maze of icebergs to get as close to the glaciers they cleaved from as possible. You will get to see all the major glaciers up close, including Onelli, Spegazzini, and Upsala.

PETRIFIED FOREST

A scenic route with a view of Lago Argentino lake, Santa Cruz river and Cordillera de los Andes will takes us to the Petrified Forest for a 3 hour hike exploring a 70 million year old forest of petrified giant trees dotted with fossils of the dinosaurs that once lived there.

You will spend about three hours exploring the glacier’s blue lagoons, deep crevices, and magical ice caves where everything turns blue. The excursion ends with a 20 minute boat ride as close to the face of the glacier as possible

A three hour off-road adventure up to an altitude of 1100 meters on the Patagonian Steppe, passing over seemingly lunar rock formations, to finally reach a rock shelf with a panoramic view of Lago Argentino, El Calafate, Mt. Fitz Roy, and Mt. Torre.
